Q: What is Managed WiFi by ZIRKEL Wireless?
A: Managed WiFi is a Carrier grade router that just works. If you ever have any questions or problems with your WiFi connectivity, just give us a call and we can remotely help diagnose and solve the problem.
Q: Why would I sign up for Managed WiFi when I can purchase my own router?
A: We do not support other manufacturers routers, and an equivalent router will cost you between $200-$300 with a 1-year warranty. Managed WiFi by ZIRKEL Wireless allows our staff to quickly and easily answer your WiFi questions so you can get back to using the Internet. And if the router goes bad, we’ll replace it.
Q: What are the benefits of Managed WiFi?
A: Our staff will be able to quickly:
- Troubleshoot slow WiFi speeds on specific devices
- Diagnose Interference within local network
- Add new devices to your network
- Help locate or reset forgotten WiFi passwords
- Assistance with Parental Controls – limit connectivity times and block websites
Q: Can I buy the router for permanent use?
A: No, the routers are not for sale. When you sign up for Managed WiFi by ZIRKEL Wireless you are paying a setup fee and leasing the router. The router will only work on the ZIRKEL connection that is subscribed to the Managed WiFi service.
Q: I notice the router has phone ports, do you offer a phone service too?
A: We do not currently offer a phone service, but the router allows us to add one in the future. We are currently researching options.
Q: The router is dual band; which band is better, 2.4GHz or 5GHz?
A: We recommend using 5GHz whenever possible and to limit your use of 2.4GHz. The 5GHz band offers faster speeds and uses newer technologies when transmitting.
